I would strongly recommend Serenity for anyone looking for movers in NYC. Scheduling the appointment could not have been more pleasant. The movers themselves arrived promptly. They moved our furniture and boxes efficiently and with plenty of care. We were referred to Serenity by a close friend who also had a great experience, and we could not have been happier with our own experience.

If you’re looking for NYC movers, check these guys (and gals) out. The movers were all guys. There were 3 of them and they were all great. Courteous, professional, efficient and super prompt. They arrived much earlier than scheduled and got a good early start. Thankfully the freight elevator that we had reserved in the building that we were moving in to allowed the guys to move in earlier than our designated time slot. There was damage (a dent) in our water cooler and one lamp was cracked when moving it in the new apt. but the staff member offered reimbursement which we declined b/c it was from Ikea and really not worth much. I was impressed that he accepted responsibility. They really were great guys. That aside, I was absolutely pleased with the staff, service, etc. We tipped very well I believe. The guys deserved it. Serenity came recomended to me via my real estate broker. Recommendations go a long way so I took his and I am glad to have done so. I have a lot of experience with Serenity Movers and all of it has been absolutely positive. As a real estate agent who manages 50 other agents in a busy midtown office I have a lot of experience with movers – none in my 8+ years of experience have been as reliable or helpful as Serenity – I recommend them to everyone be it fellow agent or client. Not only do I recommend them professionally I also hired them this past week to assist in my own move. Not only were they very accomodating – they were extremely professional and helpful. They also gave me an excellent price. With their company ethics and top notch service I will continue to use and recommend Serenity Movers.

Fantastic Customer Service!! I couldn’t be more pleased with my move. I called Serenity Movers the same day for a move because the original company I hired was a disaster! I spoke with Max who couldn’t have been more helpful. Not only were they able to be there same day for a massive move from two NYC apartments to the Hamptons, they were able to get all the appropriate paper work to my building in time. They sent over three guys who were fantastic. They were super professional and motivated. I definitely recommend this company and will be using them for every move I have moving forward!

I had no idea how to go about hiring movers in NYC, and Serenity was recommended by a friend. Initially I thought it was a little pricier than necessary, but hey, it’s NYC.

I got a confirmation email the day before and responded that “the earlier the better”. I got a call 45 minutes before they were scheduled to arrive that they were 15 minutes or so away. Unfortunately I was at my new apartment picking up the keys, but it was still super appreciated. They worked really quickly, were extremely helpful, and pleasant to be around. The overall move was quoted at 3 hours plus one hour driving time, and everything was completely finished and moved into the new place in about 2 and a half hours. So I overpaid a bit, but honestly was the happiest to have it done quickly and efficiently!

I would definitely recommend these guys!! Super professional and easy to work with. Ask for Teddy!

I work in luxury hospitality and I place tremendous value on customer service and satisfaction. I feel that Serenity does as well. And of course, thanks to Molly, the dispatcher (I believe). Molly was courteous and efficient and kept in contact with me by calling every couple of days up until the move to go over anything like inventory count and any changes. She virtually helf my hand Oh, an, it probably goes without saying but the guys came with a fully loaded truck of any and all supplies (boxes, tape, etc.) should I need it at the last minute. I’ve had disasterous moves in the past (that I’ve done on my own) and I was completely satisfied with my choice to relax for a change and use professional movers in New York City that offered great service and an affordable rate.

I am a staunch believer in consumer advocacy. The Internet has the power to support or crush businesses, and unfortunately, we don’t take advantage of it’s power enough.

That is why, whenever I’m very pleased, or very disappointed with a service, I go to the web and report it.

I combed the internet and friend recommendations for movers here in NYC. I read lots of reviews, and got quotes from every company I could find.

Serenity movers was the best quote, by far. Maxwell, who I suggest you ask for by name if you deal with the company, was very professional and very courteous in answering all my questions, and giving me a team of movers that he believed in. In a time when most business over the phone is rushed and curt, my dealings with Serenity (over multiple calls) was quite pleasant.

Move day was easy. The 3 man crew I got worked their asses off. By the end, they were pouring with sweat. They seemed to never stop or take a break. We have 3 sets of stairs, and these guys battled all day. Never complained. Never asked to rest. In all honesty, by the time the day was done, I looked at these men and thought “whatever they make working for Serenity, they earn it every day.” Really nice to watch guys work HARD to make an honest day’s living.

Only issue was their was a discrepancy in what our new address was on their paperwork. The truck was in the wrong location, after packing up, for about 30 minutes, but it seemed like a simple and honest clerical error. Serenity adjusted the charge on my bill to make good on it.

I don’t know who the other people are on this website. I don’t know who’s leaving comments. I tend to rarely believe commenters because it could be anyone writing a review. Well let me tell you, I’m a small-town guy now living in Queens who just likes to help his community and stick it to big businesses. Support good business. Screw the bad ones.

Serenity does really good business and I highly recommend them. I don’t expect this to make any of your decisions, but I hope it can be a big check mark in Serenity’s favor.

And they’re green. The Earth gave me a high-five for picking them

I don’t understand the negative reviews; things must have changed drastically!! I just moved from NewYork to Connecticut thanks to Serenity Movers. The move was totally stress-free! From day one when I spoke with Maxwell to last Saturday afternoon, nothing went wrong! If you are looking for a Mover in NYC Serenity is the BEST CHOICE by far! I got the best quoted price over six other moving companies and received my monies worth!
On moving day Teddy and his two man crew showed up and took matters into their own hands and cleared out my 3&1/2 room apartment in less than two hours. All furniture was taped, wrapped and carefully placed in the truck and safely delivered to my new place. Unpacking went just as smoothly.

Take my word for it: Serenity is THE company to choose! Max and Molly will take great care of you and the professional, courteous moving crew knows what they are doing.
Moving day can be stress-free……mine was!

The office staff was consistently responsive and helpful, and the movers (Teddy, Alvaro et al) were cheerful, efficient and polite. And fast! I wasn’t organized enough and they coped with that well. They did the move in 2 parts and were equally good both times.

Serenity Movers was truly 5 stars! I was debating between Serenity and another moving company, so figured I would have 2 companies come and give me estimates. Serenity beat the price by more then half and was a FLATRATE. The broker I used to get my apartment recommeded them and said they were amazing. They are more then amazing! Max who set up my estimate was so helpful, Noel who came to my house for estimate was extremely friendly and I felt right then and there I was using this company for my move.

The day of the move was extremley hard for me, due to not moving for a good reason. The 4 men who came to my apartment made the day that much easier. The packed everything up so carefully and I was worried that when I did unpack that something would be broken with how much stuff I had. NOTHING was broken (I had over 25 boxes) plus furniture which was mostly glass. EVERYTHING was just perfect. The day after my move, Max called me to see how my move was and I told him exactly what Im writing right now! I will ALWAYS reccommened Serenity movers to EVERYONE!!!!

I recently had Serenity movers move me from a 4th floor walk-up in the East Village to an elevator building in the LES. Not only were they punctual–they were a few minutes early. I was still in the midst of packing a few of my belongings but not only did they give me more boxes but they carefully took my belongings, quickly finished packing them for me, secured them and took them away. They seamlessly moved my belongings out of my former residence (despite the narrow stairwell) and into my new residence efficiently and politely. I would like to emphasize their politeness because it can be somewhat rare in the service-related industry of NYC especially when moving can be highly traumatic for the person moving. Finally, it was service with smile the whole way which is another pleasant surprise. Nothing was broken or lost.

I highly recommend Serenity Movers and will certainly use them again for future moves.

We give Serenity movers our 5 stars. I have used several moving companies over the past 5 years and never have I given any of them higher than a 2. My experience has been is that most moving companies never do what they promise and always complain when they arrive and change pricing on you as soon as they arrive. Not with Serenity movers! They did what they promised as promised.

I called Serenity Movers first to simply have them move my boyfriends furniture from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor. They did this perfectly and the service was great. From the first call with Max, I knew that I picked the right crew. My boyfriend was also very happy with the movers that handled everything.

2 weeks later we decided to check out a high-end furniture auction in Maryland, with no real intent to buy more than a few pieces. After about 8 hours, my boyfriend had purchased 2 truckloads of beautiful furniture that somehow needed to get shipped and unloaded all the way back to Long Island, NY.

I frantically emailed Max late on Saturday night and he called me back within 10 minutes of my email (I dont know about you but i have never had someone from a moving company return my calls after hours). Max said he would work hard to try and get us a crew for Monday. Given this was such short notice and was going to take at least a 4 man crew for 8 hours, I wasn’t sure if Max was going to be able to pull through, but he did.

He set up a 4 man crew to arrive on Monday afternoon. They did so as promised. They were very professional and courteous. They worked very hard to get the job done by a certain hour, since our building wanted the truck unloaded by a certain time.

Our furniture was brand new, so we were a bit nervous about movers damaging the furniture. With Serenity Movers, we didn’t have to worry about that; they did a great job protecting it so that it was not damaged in any way.

We have already recommended serenity movers to several friends who will be moving in a few months.

I used Serenity Movers last week when moving from Brooklyn to manhattan. I was absolutely thrilled with the service I received. Max was so great to explain all the costs to me and answer my many questions. Molly was also really helpful in getting the certificate of insurance to my new landlord. On the day of the move, the movers called me to let me know they would be 10 minutes late. Upon arrival they got to work immediately and it took them no time at all to load my items. They did a great job of packing two delicate lamps I had.
When I moved into my building the next day, they showed up exactly at 9 and quickly unloaded, asking me where I needed my boxes/furniture in different rooms throughout the apartment. Overall there was not one thing to complain about and I plan on using Serenity again for my next moves!! Highly recommended.

I have alot of experience moving and Serenity was by far my best experience. The quote was done meticulously and thoroughly gone
over the day of the move. The promised charges were exactly as outlined.
The movers were extremely pleasant and moved everything carefully.

I love the fact they are green. Everyone I dealt with was pleasant and easy to deal with.

I would recommend them highly.

Serenity Movers was highly recommneded, so I tried them out & so far have been impressed. Max is the first point of contact & very careful to return all calls/emails as you are going through scheduling process. He has a winsome yet professional manner.

On moving day 4 men showed up & responded very well to me not being completely prepared. They were respectful, hard working & responsible. They went the extra mile to wrap my things and not damage the walls/halls/doors of the building…so much so, my Landlord asked for their contact info to give to new clients.

The only reason I have not given 5 stars is because Serenity also offers storage & theyhave my things in storage for a short period…so when my things are safely in my new apt. I’ll gladly update them to 5 stars!

Our broker originally recommended Serenity Movers to us. I had always used movers that applied a flat rate for the move, so this was my first time using an hourly rate.

We had a great move. They were very careful with all our stuff and dealt with our difficult landlord very professionally. We would definitely consider using Serenity Movers again. The price was also very competitive and they ended up completing the move in a shorter time frame than was estimated.

My only complaint would be that toward the end of the day (it was a hot, sunny day) the guys started getting tired and were leaning over the very old fragile banisters to hand off boxes versus bringing them around. Once we spoke about it they did not lean over them anymore.

My husband and I did have to keep an eye on everyone to make sure time wasn’t deliberately getting stretched out, but this has happened with all our movers.

Overall, it was a quick move, they arrived on time, the price was great and the crew was very professional. We would definitely consider Serenity for our next move.

The Serenity moving crew in NYC was great and the move went perfectly!

The superior Customer Service prior to the move was invaluable to making our move go off smoothly without a hitch which can be tricky in NYC.

The movers were polite, courteous, careful and hard workers. They did a great job.

Thanks to Maxwell and Molly for making sure we had no worries.

I would recommend Serenity Movers without any hesitation whatsoever for a “no worry” moving day.

This was my first time ever using movers and was pretty hesitant having heard many horror stories about moving companies NYC. My mom found Serenity randomly in the phone book, and while it started off on a minor down, it turned around and ended up fine. The guys for the most part were pleasant, and they were very quick and efficient. Considering there were two locations that had to be packed up, they finished in record time. All of my things were packed, and arrived in one piece. The coordinator Maxwell, was extremely pleasant, and gave me all of the information in a clear, thorough manner. He called after the move to make sure all went well. Very professional, customer service oriented guy!

I have used Serenity Movers several times for moves within the tri-state area. They have always been on time and their fees are lower then other quotes I received. Their customer service (Max and Molly) are wonderful to work with. I had a small problem, they addressed it immediately, and I was more then satisfied with the resolution.
I highly recommend Serenity Movers. I will continue to use them in the future.

Ooooh I just hate moving! There is nothing more annoying than having to pack everything you own and try to fit it in a new place… But, let’s face it, that’s a big part of living in NYC.
On January we moved 10 blocks, in the same neighborhood. We were thinking of moving it all ourselves, but it was cold and snowy and not very nice in general. A friend recommended Serenity, I was afraid it’ll cost too much, but once I called they gave me a very fair estimate, which actually came out to be almost as much as it would have cost us to rent a u-haul and try to carry everything ourselves. The brought all the boxes and tape a couple of days before, we packed it all and their guys came just in time did the job and left as agreed. I know sometimes they tell you price might change, but it did not cost us a dime more… They were very careful with my things. And when i wasn’t sure of how to carry ALL my hung cloths, they brought huge boxes especially for all those cloths.
Amazing service and great experience all in all…

The best moving company I have ever used serenity movers. I contacted them and talked to Maxwell who was comforting and detailed in arranging my move it was always a pleasure to talk to him. I did have several changes with my move and he always made it stress free
like all I ever had to do was just call him and he would handle any problem. His customer service is excellent, He assigned a crew that where professional polite and very hard working.

The team leader Teddy knew exactly what to do along with the rest of the team that never stopped until the move was done.and the estimated price I received at the end was less then what was estimated I highly recommend serenity movers for your moving needs . and you must always speck with Maxwell he is great at what he does..

These NYC movers were top notch. They were professional, friendly, and I didn’t feel like I was getting nickel and dimed like other moving companies. They were very upfront about cost and additional charges from the beginning. (I agreed that they were legitimate additional charges). In addition, the crew was fast and professional, carrying stuff up a 4th floor walkup.

This move was as painless as a move can be. From beginning to end they were terrific. The estimate that was given by Noel was firm and there were no additional charges except what for what I requested.
They arrived promptly and got right to work. Each worker was polite and respectfull. The supervisor was always in complete control of my things despite having to use an elevator from the 9th floor. They were also respectfull of my neighbors. On the other end they were exactly the same. I have nothing but praise for this company. From the office staff, Molly, to Nelly and his crew they were exceptional. Although I hope never to move again, if I do, you can bet it will be with these guys!

It was the best nyc moving experience I have ever had…the men were professional and went above and beyond to help me with last minute packing. The lead guy was really nice and took apart and put my bed back together which was no easy task. I highly recommend Serenity Movers and will definitely call them again when I move again. Someone at my company recommended them and I plan on adding my thumbs up internally to it.

One of the best NYC moving companies!

**Plus love that they are eco friendly.

Ask for Teddy. I was sick and lost my keys. Regardless, everything went smoothly becayuse of him. He rolled with it, was kind and got everything done in the three hour minimum. Even for my small move, Serenity Movers was well worth the price.

Having only had friends move me before, and hearing various horror stories, I was apprehensive when hiring movers. All my fears were put at rest by Serenity movers. From the initial visit, to the final unloading, the entire team was wonderful. the team that did the actual move wrapped everything amazingly thoroughly, and didn’t hesitate to wrap and box items I hadn’t gotten to. They even placed my clothes in the wardrobe boxes. At my new house, they placed everything exactly where I wanted it and took great care not to damage anything. I would recommend them to anyone, and would definitly use them again if the need arose.

My experience with Serenity was great. They gave me a quote that was less than others, but not so low you would wonder what sort of service you were going to get (or not get). They called to confirm the day before the move. Gavi and his awesome crew showed up an hour and a half early (which was great). He and his team were upbeat, hardworking, funny, kind, and professional. They had my place packed up in no time and unloaded into my new place very quickly. They asked me where I wanted my boxed things to go, they put my furniture where I wanted it, and after it was all said and done, it was the best money I had spent in a long time.
I never hope to move again, but if I do, I would most def go with Serenity.

I had a small over 3 LARGE pieces of furniture. I called Max at serenity and he was simply AWESOME!! He assured me that he could get the job done. I recommend Serenity to anyone looking to move even a few pieces of furniture. Great customer service with a smile. And that in NYC.

I cannot recommend this company highly enough! I have heard many horror stories about moving in NYC, but my experience with Serenity could not have been better. From the first time I called, Maxwell was helpful and kind. They had a calm, fast, and flexible response to every issue I threw at them (location changes, difficult landlords, extra boxes). And their moving team was experienced, professional, and – best of all – really, really nice. They made what is usually a scary, unpleasant experience into genuinely good time. I will definitely use them again and can recommend them without reservation.

Max and his team of movers are as good as it gets. When the building I was moving into made a mistake with the move-in date, Serenity Movers turned what was a very stressful situation into a pleasant experience. They are solution oriented, fast, flexible, pleasant to work with, and reasonably priced. Having moved pretty much every year throughout the years, and having used a variety of movers, I can say Serenity Movers offers top notch service, and provides just what they say – a pleasant and stress-free move. I will definitely be using them again!

I could not be happier with or more impressed by the level of care and service rendered by Serenity Movers staff. They moved my things carefully, swiftly, and intelligently. They asked appropriate questions, dealt positively with any and all of my requests, and were sunny and respectful throughout the entire process. Serenity is now the only mover I would consider using. And I highly recommend their services.

I was really happy with Serenity (aside from the fact that they called me every day until I decided on a mover). They were 10 minutes early, and the move took EXACTLY as long as they said it would (and thus cost exactly what they estimated it would). The guys worked quickly and efficiently, and nothing broke. Very professional and courteous. I would absolutely use them again.
